Microsoft has sent out a bunch of
invites for an event scheduled to be held in San Francisco on October
29. It is being speculated that Microsoft will officially unveil Windows
Phone 8 OS at the event, less than a week after the company officially
releases the much-awaited Windows 8 at an event in New York on October
26.
The
invite does not reveal a lot of information as it's not really an
invite so much as it is a Save The Date. The event, slated to start at
10:00 PST (18:00 BST) in San Francisco, will be having more details
about where consumers can get their phones running the company's next-gen mobile OS.
The most high profile Windows Phone 8 devices are from Nokia, which recently unveiled
Lumia 920 and 820 smartphones. Nokia is aiming to compete with the
likes of Apple and Samsung with its Windows Phone 8-based smartphones.
However, the company has already drawn flak for pricing its Lumia 920
higher than Samsung's flagship smartphone, S III. Read our report on the
