Steve Jobs resigns as CEO of Apple, Tim Cook named as company’s new CEO
Apple announced on Wednesday that Steve Jobs has resigned as chief executive officer of the company. He will be succeeded by Tim Cook as new CEO of the company. Steve Jobs’s new position as chairman of the board at Apple and Cook will join the board, effective immediately. Steve Jobs, co-founder and two-time CEO of Apple, offered his resignation via a letter to the company’s board Wednesday.
