XAT Syllabus:
he Xavier Labour Relation Institute (XLRI) Jamshedpur conduct XAT test in the month of January, every year. This preliminary test allows student to apply for the admission in more than 30 MBA colleges in India.
XAT regular paper is usually similar to the other MBA entrance exam like CAT. However it includes an essay which is rarely seen in other MBA entrance exam.

The syllabus of the XAT is divided into three sections, Verbal, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning.
XAT Verbal Syllabus
Reading Comprehension
This section has generally two passages. Questions are based on these passages only. Types of questions asked are mentioned below.
Para Jumbles, Critical Reasoning (Case Lets), Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Fill in the Blanks, Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Correction,
Difficulty level of questions asked in this section varies from medium to hard. 38 to 40 questions are asked in this section.
XAT Analytical Reasoning Syllabus
AR Set, Puzzles, Blood Relations, Series. Overall 38 to 40 questions are asked in this section. Some questions are time consuming on the other hand some are relative easy. Choosing right question is important to score well. 13-14 attempts within 40 minutes are ideal.
XAT Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation Syllabus
Quantitative Ability Topics:
Number System, Arithmetic, Simple calculation of Fraction, Speed time distance, Ration Proportion, Equations and Inequalities, Functions, Maxima Minima, Series, Graph, Geometry, Menstruation, Co-ordinate Geometry, Permutation and Combination, Probability, Mathematical Reasoning, Set Theory and Data Sufficiency.
Data Interpretation:
Table, Pie Chart, Line Chart and Table and, Bar Diagrams.
Essay
Since a long time Essay is also included in the XAT paper a 20 minute duration is given to write the essay there is no fixed word limit for the essay. However a 300-350 word essay is considered as good.
