GATE 2011 is an All India entrance exam that is conducted for those seeking admission to IITs & IIScs for the post graduation. It is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. GATE 2011 entrance exam is the selection procedure for admission into the country's most reputed colleges for engineering and other technical sciences. Selection of the IIT & IISc's 2011 batch is based on the GATE 2011 admission test. Both these institutes are the best names not just in the country but also in the world. GATE 2011 Paper Pattern

GATE 2011 paper pattern is a little different from all the other years. Usually GATE exam contained a set of 65 questions out of which 55 were technical questions and 10 were general aptitude questions, with a total of 100 marks. But GATE 2011 would be different in terms of the paper pattern. Here is the new paper pattern for GATE 2011.

All the GATE 2011question papers bearing the codes AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PI and TF will contain few questions on Engineering Mathematics carrying 15 marks.

GATE Eligibility Criteria

GATE 2011 eligibility criteria is well laid out and specified.

• GATE 2011 applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy.
• Those in the final year of their courses can also full up the GATE 2011 application form.
• Master's degree holders are also eligible for applying for GATE 2011. For those with a Master's degree in Computer Applications, should have had a course in Mathematics at the Bachelor's or Master's level.
• Any other degree that is equivalent to the B.E/B.Tech and is recognized by UPSC/AICTE.

GATE application form for GATE 2011 will be available starting from the September 21, 2010. Candidates who are eligible to apply as per the above described GATE 2011 eligibility criteria. GATE application forms are broadly of two types. One is the online GATE application and other if the offline GATE application. Offline GATE Application Form 2011

For an offline GATE application form, the first step is to procure the form from the various sources where it is available. GATE application 2011 forms and bulletin can be bought from the selected bank branches, GATE zonal offices or by requesting the GATE zonal offices to post the GATE application form at your postal address. While submitting the GATE application forms, a demand draft of an amount specified on the form should be enclosed. Those who are sending a request letter should send the demand draft with the letter along with two self addressed slips with your postal address.

Online GATE Application Form 2011

Online GATE application form submission requires the candidates to make an online payment. Other important things required for an online GATE application 2011 are a digital photo and your scanned signature. For those belonging to any of the special categories, they should carry their scanned certificates before starting with the online GATE application 2011 submission.
